5.1 MUSEUMSBRUGERNE I DAG
Hvem er brugerne og hvordan oplever de deres museumsbesøg? Det giver Kulturministeriet nogle
svar på i den nationale brugerundersøgelse for 2009, der er blevet udført på samtlige statslige og
statsanerkendte museer i Danmark. Ifølge undersøgelsen kan man konkludere, at den typiske muse-
umsgæst er en kvinde på 50-64 år, som oftest har en længere uddannelse end den generelle befolk-
ning. Den mest underrepræsenterede gruppe er derimod de unge brugere mellem 14-29 år, der typisk
har en folkeskole, gymnasial eller erhvervsfaglig uddannelsesbaggrund (Kulturarvsstyrelsen, 2009b,
p.14). Resultaterne fra brugerundersøgelsen tegner et billede af segmentsammensætningen på muse-
erne, og disse er i brugerundersøgelsesrapporten blevet sammenholdt med segmentsammensætnin-
gen i hele den danske befolkning, nærmere bestemt værktøjet Gallup Kompas, der anvendes til at op-
dele befolkningen i segmenter med samme holdninger, værdier og livsstil. På den måde får man et
mere nuanceret billede af brugertypernes karakteristika og dermed også årsager til, hvorfor de vælger
eller fravælger et museumsbesøg. På baggrund af brugernes svar på en række udsagn om generelle
samfundsforhold har det været muligt at indplacere brugerne i et af GallupKompas’ ni segmenter (se
bilag 1), der yderligere er blevet tilknyttet Index Danmark/Gallup, der måler danskernes medie- og
mærkevareforbrug samt livsstil, adfærd, sociodemografi, interesser, aktiviteter og holdninger (Op.cit.
